Rabindranath Tagore (18611941) was a poet, playwright, novelist, musician and artist. He won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1913 for the English version of his collection of poetry, Gitanjali, published in 1912. Tagore wove magic from his pen. His writing evokes various emotions love, pain, yearning, sadness portrayed beautifully in one story or the other. The stories include a lot of details about the social hierarchy and customary rituals.
